While the news is still breaking, we have more clarity on the veteran staffer arrested this week:
Timothy Parsons is a longtime legal staffer at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C. He is facing federal criminal charges in Maryland for the receipt and possession of child pornography.
An FBI affidavit alleges Parsons received multiple videos and images of abuse, responding to them with sexually charged messages like, "That is so hot".
His case was uncovered during an investigation into a former child psychotherapist, Victor Blythe, at Children's National Medical Center.
This is the "trail" that led to Parsons. He wasn't caught by accident; he was caught because the FBI was tracking a different predator. Who is Victor Blythe?
He was a licensed child psychotherapist at Children’s National Hospital who was arrested in August 2025 for distributing child abuse material. Investigators found that the images sent to Parsons came from a "suspected child exploiter" whose case matches Blythe’s 2025 criminal case. The 2019 Message: Parsons allegedly admitted to receiving material from this individual as far back as February 2019. Timothy Parsons was a legal staffer at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in D.C.—the very office that handles high-level federal prosecutions.
Parsons is scheduled for his first court appearance in Greenbelt, Maryland, earlier today; he has been appointed a federal public defender and is currently on leave from the DOJ.

This arrest happened the same week the House Oversight Committee subpoenaed Pam Bondi for "orchestrating a cover-up". It reinforces the "Shadow Broker" theory: that the people inside the system may have been compromised or had their own "dark hobbies" that made them vulnerable to leverage to release the Epstein Files.
